For one mother, building bridges has been fundamental in the journey with her autistic son, Isaac. What she noticed was that her neuro-typical children seemed to move from one developmental step to the next as though there was a bridge already built for them - and all they had to do was to learn to cross it. With Isaac, however, the bridges were simply not there.  The biggest challenge for her has been how to build those bridges for him.
Read about how the Davis Autism Approach has built the bridges necessary for Isaac to work towards full participation in life.

"We have had some major breakthroughs in her identity. We have had some changes take place recently that will affect her weekly routine. Normally this would have caused a major meltdown for weeks, but she was so receptive to it and didn’t bat an eye when I explained the new transition taking place in the near future. I truly was thankful and amazed at her ability to cope with such a major change.  I was thrilled that some of the “normal-ness” of everyday life are becoming a natural part of who she is. It warms my heart beyond words as I watch these new ideas and concepts become part of who she is, thank you!!!"
Mary Martin - mother of an autistic girl
