Objective

This training is for parents, caregivers, teachers, teacher aides and support people of individuals with autism.

Training Structure

Attend one or both of the following workshops:
  1. Davis Stepping Stones
  2. Davis Life Concepts for Autism
 
Receive the training and materials necessary to take your child or student through the appropriate program.  On completion of each workshop, you will receive a Certificate of Attendance.

Training Details

Davis Stepping Stones – 2 day Workshop

This  workshop is ideal for parents, teachers, teacher aides and support people of: 
​
  • Autistic individuals under the age of 8 
  • Autistic individuals with very limited – or no – language 
  • Autistic individuals who have been using the NOIT and have begun to develop a sense of self 
Davis Stepping Stones workshop
​Davis Stepping Stones, the beginning steps to the Davis Autism Approach is a holistic program, developed to assist you in helping your child/student who are on the autistic spectrum and /or are struggling to meet early childhood development milestones.

The Davis Stepping Stones workshop teaches you how to help your child reduce meltdowns, meet childhood milestones, and make sense of the world - all without losing their beautiful uniqueness.  
 
This two-day workshop gives participants all of the training and materials you need to take your child/student through the Davis Stepping Stones program, including: 
  • A set of simple, effective self-management strategies, that enable you to manage stress, and control personal energy levels. 
  • How to achieve Individuation – helping the child to develop accurate perception and an awareness of self. 
  • Gaining practical experience in using clay to explicitly teach the concepts of self, another, others, change, consequence, cause/effect, before/after. 
  • Developing a knowledge base of how to integrate these concepts into the child’s daily life. 
  • Creating a support network.

Davis Life Concepts for Autism - 5 day Workshop
​

The Davis Life Concepts for Autism workshop has been created to provide meaningful solutions for you or someone who you are supporting.  This workshop is: 
  • for parents, family members and support persons of individuals over the age of 8 with ASD 
  • for individuals on the autism spectrum who are looking for a self-development program 
  • the first step in the Davis Autism Facilitator licensing process.

In this five-day workshop, you will be introduced to the gentle, non-invasive Davis Autism Approach® and be guided on a journey to understanding the  Life Concepts created by Ron Davis and outlined in the book, 'Autism and the Seeds of Change.'   
The workshop gives participants the training and materials required for the Davis Life Concepts for Autism program, including: 
  • A set of simple, effective self-management strategies, that enable you to manage stress, control energy levels, and maintain focus. 
  • How to achieve Individuation – helping your loved one to develop accurate perception and an awareness of self. 
  • Gaining practical experience in using clay to explicitly teach the Davis Life Concepts for Autism.  These include: consequence, time, sequence, order and disorder - facilitating true understanding of one's environment.  Other concepts covered include:  emotion, want, need, motivation, and responsibility.  There is also a set of Relationship Concepts which include exploring relationships based on trust, belief, agreement and rules; as well as the idea of making decisions based on what is good, bad, right and wrong. 
  • Developing a knowledge base of  how to integrate these concepts into your loved one’s daily life. 
  • Creating a support network.
